Advocate Shahina Akbar has been enrolled as an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan since 2 April 2011. From chambers at 628 Street 42, Phase 2, Bahria Town, Rawalpindi 46220, she provides strategic representation before the Supreme Court and the High Courts — leave petitions, civil appeals, and appellate strategy for high-value matters affecting clients in Bahria Town, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad.
ASC enrolment means apex-court work is available when leave and merits justify it; it is not a substitute for careful trial-court preparation. Not every matter proceeds to the Supreme Court. Apex-court leave petitions and appeals are considered after a conflict check and review of the record — consistent with the chambers’ published FAQ on ASC appeals.
Path of enrolment
She read law at the University of the Punjab (LL.B., 1995) and holds an M.Sc. in Home Economics, First Class (1975). Enrolment runs from the District Courts (November 1997) through the High Court (December 1999) to the Supreme Court (2 April 2011). Before full-time practice she taught as Adhoc Lecturer in Home Economics at Government College, Kashmir Road, Rawalpindi (1987–1995) and at Wah Cantt (1996).
Institutional appellate exposure
Selected appointments include panel counsel to the National Highway Authority (Islamabad, 2000–present) before District Courts, Federal Service Tribunal, IHC, LHC Rawalpindi Bench, and the Supreme Court; Legal Advisor to the Income Tax Department, Rawalpindi (2002–December 2016) in District Courts, High Court, Supreme Court, and Federal Service Tribunal; Legal Advisor to the Abandoned Properties Organization (2005–November 2018) in DC, High Court, and Supreme Court; and Legal Advisor to First Women Bank Ltd (1998–present) including DC/HC/SC matters.
